Scanning the horizon

After a snow I waited until a sunny day, this time to capture the horizon, but inspite of the cold. a haze cover tricked me.

Of course after dark there is no details to be seen even on a clear day the distance is in a haze, I suppose waiting for a zero cloud cover and low humidity would be the key at the best possible.

My camera not only shows the gps but the direction the camera is pointing. The plan is to capture pics of where the sun will set through out the year. Super teley at a tilt to capture the top, then tilt down at different angles for additional pin point areas
I placed a steady holder at post 34 1/4th n 3/8th
but when I thought it was level and rotated it, ugh, that is where I got the idea of this rotating device if it would keep the camera level .. only use it once I figure.

,

Planned to take pics on the 20-21st but the clouds might cover the sky, so I will try again on the 22nd, looks better.

Today I am trying to come up with some mount on the rail so I can place the camera in the exact same spot through out the year..
